{The manuscript is thick, with a cover of heavy yellow paper, kept in a plain plastic binder. Sometimes it thins and sometimes it thickens again. Shane is always adding to it and rewriting it when he has time. Researching Bellum started as something to do when he had nothing else, and has swiftly become something like...a hobby. A disgustingly normal hobby, really. His interest stems from several things, mostly the strangeness the building continues to foster all around them, and the fact that his own, rather bizarre issues didn't start until he moved in. If there's a connection, he's going to find one. In the mean time, it is pretty interesting.}

(Shane is not listening to music. No, Shane is watching TV, and all anyone will hear when they walk by his apartment is the impersonal concern of a news anchor.

Locked inside one of the many well-secured cabinets in Shane's apartment is a scrapbook of newspaper articles. It's the only chronicle of his work that Shane allows himself, since it's vague enough if ever found to be dismissed as a symptom of a very average, very American obsession with crime.
There are literally hundreds of newspaper clippings in the book, often with several relating to one case. There are, however, a few gatherings of articles of note.
